The excavations carried out in the territory of “Lori Berd (Fortress)” Settlement” Historical and Cultural Reservation provide remarkable materials.
Besides the clay, bone, glass, and metal objects found in the territory, stone finds are also of great importance.
According to tradition, the fourth feast of the Varaga Cross, dedicated to the Holy Cross, was celebrated with great solemnity on September 25 at the Nor Varagavank monastery in the Tavush region. Before the holiday, a relic of the True Cross was transferred from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to Nor Varagavank. This holiday is national, purely Armenian, and is celebrated only by the Armenian Apostolic Church.

The employees of the Department of Monuments Preservation of the “Protection Service” SNCO, carried out monitoring of the most endangered monuments in a number of border communities of Tavush region together with the colleagues of historical environment preservation regional service of Tavush on September 8-9.
Cleaning works have started in the territory of the “Amberd Fortress” historical and cultural reserve, the princely castle. Reconstruction works of the fortress are planned to be implemented next year. The project is financed by the “Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum-reservations” of the MоESCS RA.
This set of beads, which seems new at first glance, has a history of centuries. They have been discovered from the ancient sites “Pali Tak” and “Koghi Tak” located in the middle of Karmirgyugh and Sarukhan settlements of Gegharkunik region. The beads date back to the XI-IX centuries B.C. In the 1980s, the joint expedition of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography NAS RA and the Erebuni historical-archaeological reserve-museum, led by archaeologist, scientist Ashot Piliposyan, carried out rescue excavations in the area of the mentioned tomb site. This bead from the archaeological collection of the Sarukhan necropolis “Pali Tak” has a special significance. It helps to form an idea about the objects of grandeur used by our ancestors. Materials related to the times of Van’s reign are well presented in this ancient site.
Today, on September 4, 2022 the participants of the “STARMUS FESTIVAL VI. 50 years on Mars, 2022” (an International Festival of astronomy, space exploration, music and art) visited “Metsamor” Historical and Archeological Museum-Reserve.
